Innovation and Impact

At the Parvis Goldman Institute of Art, research is not just an academic pursuit; it is the engine of innovation and a cornerstone of our mission. We are committed to fostering a dynamic research culture that encourages cross-disciplinary collaboration and tackles the most pressing global challenges. Our faculty and students are engaged in a wide range of pioneering projects that blur the lines between traditional disciplines. From the application of machine learning to understand international trade flows to the use of design thinking to create sustainable urban infrastructure, our research is both academically rigorous and socially impactful. We believe that true research has a purpose beyond the laboratory or the library—it is about creating knowledge that can lead to real-world solutions.

Centres of Excellence

Our research efforts are structured around several key Centres of Excellence, each dedicated to a specific area of inquiry. The Centre for Global Political Economy is a hub for scholars and policymakers who seek to understand the complex relationship between states, markets, and international organisations. Research here focuses on issues such as global supply chain resilience, the future of multilateral trade, and the political dimensions of climate change. The Centre for Data and Human Innovation is at the forefront of the digital revolution, exploring the ethical implications of artificial intelligence, the design of user-friendly technology, and the application of big data to solve complex social problems. These centres provide a platform for faculty and students to collaborate, publish, and present their work to a global audience.

Faculty and Student Research

Our faculty are not only exceptional educators but also internationally recognised scholars and practitioners. They lead our research initiatives, mentoring students and integrating their findings into the classroom curriculum. This ensures that our students are always learning at the very cutting edge of their fields. Postgraduate students are actively involved in research, working alongside faculty on projects and often publishing their work in peer-reviewed journals. High school and undergraduate students are also encouraged to participate in research opportunities, from summer research programmes to independent study projects. We believe that early exposure to the research process is vital for developing critical thinking and a lifelong passion for inquiry.

Publications and Dissemination

PGIA is committed to the broad dissemination of our research findings. Our faculty and students regularly publish in leading academic journals and present their work at international conferences. We also host a variety of seminars, workshops, and public lectures, bringing together scholars, industry leaders, and policymakers to discuss a wide range of topics. Our goal is to create a vibrant intellectual ecosystem that extends beyond the walls of our institution, contributing to public discourse and informing policy decisions on a global scale. We are proud of our research output and its contribution to a better understanding of the world.
